Breaking new ground

Breaking new ground

Do you too often find it feels like déjà vu all over again?

One of the great human strengths is the ability to see patterns in things and use that insight to generate new ideas, solutions, relationships. When this is working for us, life can be a bowl of cherries – sometimes with added cream!

But our comfort with patterns can become harmful to us, at work or home.  We can keep trying to do the same thing just because it worked once, or we think that’s how someone succeeded. But if that doesn’t work, we tend to trust the pattern and keep doing the same thing… with the same outcome each time… and so become more frustrated and potentially cash and confidence poorer at each turn.

This trap often creeps up on leaders and organisations, so that the first thing we notice is that nagging voice at the back of our heads saying ‘here we go again’ or ‘why does this keep happening?’, or that sense of being stuck in the same rut going nowhere fast.  An independent critical friend can help you understand what’s happening and why – and so adopt a strategy to move things on for the better.

Why not speak to us about strategy, organisational and cultural change?
